What's even more interesting is how 3D Printing will affect the field of paleontology by making these file(s) available for any amateur paleontologist (or anyone else) to download, 3D Print, and come up with their own theories.
With the internet, and 3D Printing, this type of thing might even further democratize fields like paleontology and make the process of innovation/discovery even faster.
Very interesting stuff. | | stratysys - youtube.com Stratasys has recently unveiled two new pieces of game-changing additive manufacturing technology: the Infinite-Build 3D Demonstrator and the Robotic Composite 3D Demonstrator -- which could be used for 3D Printing aircraft parts, among other things. This came out last week, but I forgot to include it in the digest. | | Katie Armstrong - 3dprintingindustry.com In Texas, a 12-year-old girl discovered an old skull of a woman. Her father wanted to keep a record/replica of his daughter's rare find, so they used 3D Printing to print out a replica for safe keeps. Fun stuff. | | lowes - lowesinnovationlabs.com So, LOWES has allegedly started to ramp up their Innovation Labs for customers. What is it? Think of it like a maker space full of DIY possibilities (including 3D Printing) with the help of Lowes employees. It's essentially a Kinkos for creating anything you imagine. Among other possibilities, this means that the average Joe could walk into a Lowes and create prototypes of anything. | | Richa Malhotra - livescience.com An Egyptian mummy's head and face have been reconstructed with forensic science and 3D printing, offering scientists a tantalizing glimpse of the individual's life and death.
