| | 3D Printing | April 07, 2017 | Yo!
Hope you had a good week thus far.
I just started reading Cody Wilson's book Come and Take It. Just in case you are unfamiliar, he is the guy behind defense distributed out of Austin, Texas. That's the outfit behind the "3D Printed Gun."
If you don't have time to read the book, watch this interview with Cody on Reason.
Whether you like him or not -- he's an interesting character.
Anyway, today, we'll be covering:
1.) Cody Wilson's Ghost Gunner 2.) A 3D Printed, Desktop Jet Engine 3.) A 3D Printed T-Rex 4.) A guide on SLA Printing 5.) Printing sweaters and knitted clothing 6.) Printing a metal bridge in Amsterdam 7.) The 3D Hubs Q2 trends 8.) ABC's and Mattel's new TV Show 9.) Amputees being able to swim because of 3D Printed prosthesis 10.) How young kids are using 3D Printing 11.) South Korea's investment in 3D Printing.
Those are the highlights for this week.
I hope you enjoyed those.
As always, let me know if you have any suggestions, questions, comments, etc. by hitting reply.
Until next time, my friend, Dilanka

"..In keeping with his own sober manner and simple style of living, Genghis Khan warned them against the pursuit of a "colorful" life with material frivolities and wasteful pleasures. "It will be easy," he explained, "to forget your vision and purpose once you have fine clothes, fast horses, and beautiful women." In that case, "you will be no better than a slave, and you will surely lose everything." - Genghis Khan | Big Savings On TechCrunch Disrupt NY Tickets Calling all startups, investors, and entrepreneurs! | | Ghost Gunner - ghostgunner.net A while back, Cody Wilson and Defense Distributed was banned from releasing digital files for 3D Printable weapons by the U.S State Department. Then, these guys decided to counter with releasing Ghost Gunner -- which allows anyone to print AR-15 Lowers without any experience. | | World War Wings - worldwarwings.com I would LOVE to have this on my desk. | | antiserf - imgur.com This is one of my favorite prints from this week. It was printed using Proto Pastas Carbon Fiber Reinforced PLA on a consumer level printer. You can download this design on Thingiverse. | | Formlabs - formlabs.com Excellent guide on SLA 3D Printing. | | Kickstarter - kickstarter.com I didn't include this in last week's digest, but I am including it today because it is _somewhat_ related to "printing stuff at home". It's still a super neat idea though. | | Josh Mings - solidsmack.com Very cool project. | | 3D Hubs - 3dhubs.com Fun to see the Prusa i3 MK2 as the most popular printer thus far in 2017. | | ABC - youtube.com My guess is that this is definitely going to do well on Television. It's also likely to introduce the idea of 3D Printing toys at home. The reason I say that is because Mattel was supposed to released a toy printing 3D Printer (called Thingmaker) last year. They are due to releasing it this year due to postponing it. Should be interesting. | | Gregory Zeller - innovateli.com Great case study in prosthetic 3D Printing. Also, be sure to watch the video. | | Jason Leaderman - popsci.com Damn. 11-17 is quite young indeed. I was such an idiot at that age. Proud of these kids. | | Sam Davies - tctmagazine.com Thank god it's not North Korea. | Open Position! - Techstars Program Manager of FinTech Accelerator in New York Along with the Managing Director, the Program Manager (“PM”) is tasked with the success of a particular Techstars program.
