3D Printer Kickstarter Steals Money

Leo Kelion - BBC.com

Crowdfunding website Kickstarter is investigating claims that money given to a tech project was instead used to build a home. One co-founder of the Peachy Printer scheme accused the other of stealing more than 324,000 Canadian dollars ($353,000; £174,000) and spending it. -- I've heard of plenty of 3D Printing related Kickstarter's failing to deliver, but this is a first.

Dremel released an APP for it's Idea builder printer

Dremel

The Dremel 3D app, which is available for free on both iOS and Android devices, essentially provides constant remote access to its corresponding Dremel Idea Builder 3D40. Through it, students and teachers can easily access a digital library of 3D models ready to print, as well as monitor printing queues and printing statuses. Additionally, the app allows users to select Dremel's own 3D model gallery, which the app can then optimize for printing using cloud processing servers. The app was also designed to give alerts and updates on prints that may be in progress to ensure an optimal printing process.

Xerox allegedly entering into 3D Printer

Xerox is allegedly coming into 3D Printing. Not sure what this all means, but it is certainly interesting.

Disney's secret 3D Printer patent

ibtimes.co.uk

This is quite neat. It's a patent made by Disney for a super fast 3D Printer -- the idea itself is quite creative. Since Mattel is already going to be releasing a 3D Printer later this year, it would be super interesting to see how DIsney responds.
