| | 3D Printing | July 14, 2017 | Hey you.
What's new with you? Up to anything interesting?
I've been watching The Defiant Ones on HBO lately. If you are a fan of Hip Hop (and Dr. Dre etc.), you'll enjoy it.
Other than that, I am curious about what's going to happen with this Connor Mcgregor vs. Floyd Mayweather fight next month. It's surely been entertaining to follow Dana White's VLOGS though.
Ah yes! 3D Printing.
Let's get to it.
Today, we'll be covering:
1.) A fun Jurassic Park related tweet 2.) A 3D printed boxer engine 3.) Some applications of 3D printing in architecture and design 4.) 3D printing for stoners 5.) NASA's award for citizen inventors 6.) Ripping off design decor 7.) A 3D Printed thumb 8.) Cleaning water with 3D Printed prototypes 9.) Seven high growth 3D printing careers 10.) A fully 3D Printed Iron Man Costume
That's all for today.
Until next time, my friend, Dilanka

Interesting stuff. | | Cristina Sanza - insidethemagic.net This is an interesting and increasingly popular activity.
Essentially, someone takes a regular picture of an object that is likely trademarked, then they use photogrammetry (the idea of re-creating a 3D model from a 2D Image) software to create a 3D Printable design out of it.
Then, they'll distribute it on the Internet (on a site like Thingiverse) for free so anyone is able to download and 3D Print it.
What do you think? Is this piracy? Or is it acceptable? | | Clayton Moore - digitaltrends.com Another good compliment to the other piece Re: Architecture & 3D Printing | | Lori Dorn - laughingsquid.com This is a bit weird -- and I can't confirm that it makes anything easier, but, it's still quite amusing and interesting. | | Helen Tunnicliffe - thechemicalengineer.com A multidisciplinary team at the University of Bath, UK, is developing a new portable, cheap and efficient device to treat contaminated drinking water for poor communities in the developing world.
...and they are using 3D Printing for their prototyping. | | Fabbaloo - solidsmack.com Just in case you are in the market for a job in the 3D printing industry -- you should find this helpful. | | Imgur - Imgur This guy spent 6 months, 8KG of ABS Plastic, and about $600 3D printing a full Iron Man Costume on a regular old consumer 3D Printer.
Quite impressive stuff indeed. | | | | |
