For its fifth anniversary, the global summit will be gathering over 65 handpicked startups coming from Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, Asia and Africa. Spanning a wide variety of verticals, from fintech to edtech, med/biotech, agritech, insuretech, cleantech and nanotechnology, the summit will take place at the SwissTech Convention Center in Lausanne, Switzerland to compete for different prizes and the title of Seedstars Global Winner. MALAYSIA is hoping to draw the interest of foreign technology entrepreneurs away from its neighbours with a slew of tax and visa incentives, Bloomberg reported.Yasmin Mahmood, chief executive officer of Malaysia Digital Economy Corp (MDEC), said policymakers were serious about encouraging tech startups to set up shop to build up a sector that has created more than 170,000 new jobs and contributed 18.2% of gross domestic product in 2017.
