3D Printing | April 15, 2016 | What up homies!
Meanwhile, in Washington, Obama is blowing bubbles with 3D Printed bubble wands.
What a time to be alive!
I know this digest is supposed to be about 3D Printing (it still is!) -- but if you ever want to chat about anything interesting related to technology, hit me up. I love hearing from you weirdos. If you a content creator/podcaster/blogger? I'd love to check your stuff out as well. Also, if you want to chat in 10 second clips and pictures, you can add me on Snapchat ( astroprint) as well. Book I am currently reading: Humans Need Not Apply by Jerry Kaplan -- It's all about how Artificial Intelligence will reshape our lives and how we can adapt. Interesting book. If you are short on time, you can just watch a video called Humans Need Not Apply by CGP Grey (unrelated to the author of the book) on YouTube and you should be fine.
In any case, hope you are still printing in 3D....or 4D ;)

The object (i.e: 3D Printed Bubble Wand) itself might be simple, but this is an interesting clip because it introduces the mainstream into the 3D Printing paradigm. President Obama asks all the right questions from the kid and covers what 3D Printing is all about in a very short time and that demonstration by itself should inspire a lot of kids and adults to explore 3D Printing. | | Aric Rindfleisch - Coursera If you still haven't pulled the trigger on 3D Printing, check out this excellent introductory course about 3D Printing. If you have a friend or spouse that might be interested, go ahead and forward this to them. It's perfectly normal to spend a couple of years "observing" 3D Printing from afar before actually buying a 3D Printer -- this course will certainly accelerate that process. Also, if you have any questions, hit reply and send me your questions. Like I've mentioned before, all I do is 3D Print (I traded in my Wife for a 3D Printer, the economics are much better). | | Markforged Most of the 3D Printers I use are consumer grade and cost less than <$3000 -- with that said, we all have dreams and one of my dream printers are built by Markforged. These guys make insane printers that can print with materials like Fiberglass, and Kevlar. It's a bit pricey, but one cannot deny that these guys make incredible printers. | | Thingiverse If you are looking for ideas on what to 3D Print next, this is one of the most used objects in my life. It's a neat little stand for your cell phone. I use it when I am watching TED Talks or podcasts at the office. For best results, print it with Ninja Flex's Semi Flex filament.
